The team has MatMaids who serve as managers who help with everything from running errands to helping with statistics.
“I think that the team is looking good this year. We almost have every weight class filled which helps a lot in team events. Everyone has good records this season, and they are all working really hard to stay in shape and keep winning,” Jayna Jerden, junior MatMaid, said.
“It helps having amazing coaches that care and get the best out of each wrestler. So all in all I think that we are having a really great season, and I hope it will continue for States,” Jerden continued.
The team will travel to North Marion for Big 10 on February 4 and 5. Regionals will be hosted at home, at Lewis County High School February 18 and 19.
The team said they are continuing to work hard to improve for season and plan to have a good time doing it. They are already looking to the future.
“We are planning on having the wrestlers support the basketball team at home games, and we are also planning on having the high school wrestling team help mentor the youth wrestlers. We are also going to have bowling and movie nights with the wrestlers in the upcoming future,” Coach Bush said.
