As the Halloween season approaches, there are several activities and events in the central West Virginia area to keep students busy. From pumpkin picking to trick-or-treating, here’s a compiled list of things you can do to stay entertained this spooky season!

Delirium @ TALA:

     Delirium hits downtown Weston at the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum (TALA) Thursdays through Saturdays in October. The interactive haunted asylum features role-playing characters who are acting out horrific and terrifying scenes. Many of the scenes are based on paranormal activity and legendary stories from North America’s largest hand-cut stone building. The cost is $25 per person to experience Delirium, the theme for this year’s haunted house. 

Flashlight Tours @ TALA

Mini Photo Sessions @ Jackson’s Mill

October 23 (3:00 PM – 7:00 PM)

     On October 23, Mini Photo Sessions will be held at Jackson’s Mill from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Bring your family and friends in costumes for professional pictures by Turning Key Photography! 

Drive-Thru Trunk or Treat @ Stonewall Resort

October 29 (4:00 PM – 6:00 PM)

     On October 29, Drive-Thru Trunk or Treat will be held at Stonewall Resort from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. 

Spooktacular Event + Halloween Party @ Lewis County Park

October 30 (3:00 PM – 6:00 PM + 8:00 PM)

Free

     On October 30, Lewis County Park is hosting a Spooktacular Event from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM. There will be trunk or treat, costume contest, putt putt, sack race, and more all with prizes. Then at 8:00 PM, they are having a Halloween Party at the #1 pavilion with free food, music, and a fire. 

Trick-or-Treat

October 31 (6:00 PM – 7:00 PM)

     On October 31, trick or treating hours are 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Masks and social distancing are strongly encouraged by the Weston City Council. 

Maniac Mountain @ 1659 Teter Road, Buckhannon 

October 15 – November 6

     A nearby Halloween attraction is Maniac Mountain in Buckhannon. This haunted attraction includes a haunted house, corn maze, and death metal all in one ticket which is $40 for general admission and $60 for VIP. Maniac Mountain is October 15th, 16th, 22nd, 23rd, 29th, 30th, and 31st from 7:00 PM- 12:00 AM, October 28th from 7:00 PM- 10:00 PM, and the Blackout haunted experience on November 5th and 6th from dark to 10:00 PM. 

Halloween Party @ Mountain Man Axe Throwing, Star City

October 22 – 24

      Mountain Man Axe Throwing in Star City, WV is hosting a Halloween Party. Reservations are recommended, but you get 15% off if you come in costume. There will be a costume contest (winner gets an Axe Throwing Party for 8) and Axe Throwing, along with vendors Rolling Hills Rolled Ice Cream and The Ugly Little Cupcake.
