A Word from Nurse Allison
February 4, 2021
Nurse Allison McWhorter outlined attendance policies for students who are dealing with COVID-19 related absences. She reviewed policies pertaining to school attendance if students are in the process of COVID-19 testing:
- If you test positive for COVID-19, the school nurse or principal must be notified immediately.
- If you are awaiting test results, you may not attend school.
- If you have been in close contact* of someone awaiting test results for COVID-19, you may not attend school. Please contact the school nurse and advise her of your situation.
- If you have been told by the health department or the school nurse to quarantine due to contact tracing, you may not attend school.
- If you are feeling any of the symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, breathing issues, aches, or loss of taste/smell), you may not attend school.
*A close contact is anyone within 6ft. for longer than 15 minutes with OR without a mask.
Nurse Allison said she appreciated the cooperation of the LCHS Family.
“Thank you for your cooperation in helping us reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our schools and community,” Nurse Allison concluded.
