Faculty Spotlight of the Week
October 10, 2016
This week’s Faculty Spotlight of the Week is Mr. Marc Smith. He enjoys going outdoors and doing anything water related. Smith is an extremely energetic teacher who sets up a good environment for his students. Here’s more about him:
What “do you do” at Lewis County High School?
“I teach earth science and earth and space science. I also co-sponsor or co-advise student council and help out with the Quiz Bowl team.”
Where did you attend college?
“West Virginia University. Go Mountaineers!”
Why did you decide to teach?
“It was my Plan B; I intended on going to dental school.”
What’s a word that means a lot to you and why?
“Respect. At minimum the exchange of respect among people offers a foundation for stronger, better relationships. In fact, it is impossible to have a solid relationship without respect.”
What motivates you?
“You lovely kids as well as my own kid. As well as the handsome salary I receive as a teacher.”
