The Fall Sports Season has been HUGE for LCHS Athletics in deference to post season play. Even teams who fell short of advancing their seasons had quality wins and personal growth.
LCHS golfer, Scott Underwood, advanced to the WV State Golf Tournament and finished 11th in state on October 3rd.
On October 28, Boys’ Cross Country team returned as a team for the second-straight year for the WV Cross Country State Tournament. The was the first time in LCHS history the boys went back-to-back to the tournament.
LCHS Boys’ Soccer team won Regionals and advanced to the WV State Soccer Tournament narrowly losing 0-1 on November 2. This was the first time in school history boys’ soccer won Regionals advancing to the state tournament.
The football team advanced to the WV State Playoffs. The team saw some of the toughest competition in the state and pulled quality wins against many teams who are in the playoffs. They lost to Winfield at the playoffs on November 10.
LCHS Cheerleaders returned to the WV State Tournament for the second-straight year after garnering a Regional Runner-Up Title on November 4. The team will return for back-to-back state tourney performances December 9 in Huntington WV.
The athletes would like to give thanks to all supporters of the LCHS Athletic program for representing LCHS with school spirit and good sportsmanship.
