With the increasing need for technology in the classroom, having a school-based tech team is a necessity, and LCHS has a team of five individuals working for the students and staff.
Mrs. Sarah Darnall is a Technology Integration Specialist (TIS) at LCHS who works on the school´s Chromebooks, teaches lessons, and manages whatever tech needs occur. She loves hiking, camping and watching movies. Darnall enjoys that her job brings something different every day.
“I love Lewis County High School. The kids are friendly. The staff has grit. It’s really a family environment,” Darnall said.
Mrs. Julie McCarty´s job consists of Technology Integration and being a county TIS, and she has been doing it for 10 years. She loves that her job allows her to watch students be creative and learn how to utilize technology. McCarty enjoys crocheting, clearance shopping, decorating for Christmas and watching her kids play sports.
Ms. Regina Stewart has been providing tech support in Lewis County since 2018. Stewart graduated as valedictorian of her high school class. She loves troubleshooting and getting something to work after it has been having problems is extremely rewarding for her. Stewart loves gardening and her dahlias are her pride and joy.
Mr. Brian Tannous has been a county TSS (Technology Systems Specialist) for five years in Lewis County. Tannous has several certifications in the IT field and an associate degree in computer information management. He loves that his job allows him to solve problems.
“My favorite season is ‘SumFall’, summer plus fall,” Tannous said about his favorite season.
Mr. Jeff Tidd is the Director of Technology and Information for Lewis County Schools. Tidd enjoys warm sunny days and playing the addictive sport of pickleball. He also loves that something different challenges him every day in his job.
Overall, these five individuals keep LCHS, and the entire county’s technology up and running.
